Tiananmen is an everlasting memory

Updated: Oct 7, 2021

This blog reiterates WTPOHK's long held view that until the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) comes clean about the Tiananmen massacre of 4 June 1989 and enacts political reforms for China to become a multi-party democracy, the peoples of the world are unable to move forwards with CCP. This is non-negotiable!

The Tiananmen issue is all about political reform, democracy, the will of the people of China and the world for domestic and international stability and prosperity.

Peoples' empathy is for the people of China - NOT with CCP : Many of us have seen the CNN and BBC TV Tiananmen massacre footage, and read or heard about CCP's denials of massacre, injury or deaths of protesters and innocent bystanders.

Today we call what CCP is doing worldwide as 'gaslighting', a term that was not being used in the 1980's.Today's news features crimes against humanity including genocide in Tibet, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia and Hong Kong (HK).

Instead of coming clean about Tiananmen and making needed political reforms, CCP is desperately trying to stay in power by changing history, narratives and memories of all peoples of the world : Ultimately the truth always comes out!

China's domestic security budget is even larger than its already massive defense budget. For a country globally ranked only 79th in terms of GDP per capita, such spending is unsustainable.

The view of nationalist totalitarian CCP is that Emperor Xi Jinping sits on his throne in the middle kingdom around which the world revolves. CCP members are a criminal gang of roughly 100 million (7%) mainland Chinese out of China's 1.4billion population. They intend to remain in power, and they do NOT care about anyone or anything except themselves.

CCP has always denied its human rights atrocities which have, since 1949, killed at least 77million people in China. CCP has no legitimacy to rule China : There was no 'civil war' in China 1945-1949 because CCP's Mao Zedong conspired with the Japanese Army to defeat the armies of the Republic of China - Mao was a traitor! CCP's illegitimacy is the basis of its insecurity.

By the 1970's, with a massive mainland Chinese refugee influx after WWII, and the cultural revolution across the mainland border, roughly 2/3rds of HK's population were escapees from CCP's China. Since then, the majority of HK people have given support to democracy in the SAR and the rule of law apparently absent on the mainland. Since 1949 CCP has made it clear to the British colonial rulers that they do not support democracy in HK : Since the first day of the handover to China on 1 July 1997 CCP has been in breach of the Joint Declaration.

HK, China and Singapore are feudal Chinese plutocracies in which the Emperor governs using the arbitrary rule BY law. By comparison, Taiwan is one of Asia's leading democracies with a world class economy : Proving that with the rule OF law and democracy, Chinese communities can move beyond being a sweat shop run by triads (organized criminal gangs).

In HK and China there is state orchestrated drive for 'stability' using coercion as a means of torture caused by the structural violence of CCP's feudal Chinese plutocracy : i.e. if you want 'prosperity' then you must accept and support CCP's actions for 'stability' which include arbitrary disappearances, murder, Tiananmen massacre, COVID-19 pandemic source and spreading, Xinjiang genocide, etc.

Under the UN international treaty the '1984 Sino-British Joint Declaration on the Question of Hong Kong', since 1 July 1997 handover the SAR was guaranteed for 50 years to have an unchanged lifestyle, a high degree of autonomy, the common law and an independent judiciary with the right to final adjudication.

CCP and HK government in HK does not comply with UN international treaties including the Joint Declaration and ICCPR : HK protesters who are the majority of HK people uphold the Joint Declaration and the rule OF law.

CCP, faced with reality of its massive losses in HK's 24 November 2019 District Council elections, the only universal and equal suffrage elections in HK, found that it had been publicly unmasked and humiliated. CCP then used its 'nuclear' option and nuked everyone - including itself - when on 1 July 2020 CCP using its unconstitutional 'national security law' CCP annexed HK. CCP is irrevocably hitched to HK - trash HK to crash CCP!

On 24 May 1998, only a few days before the Tiananmen massacre, HK protesters then held what was at the time HK's largest ever protest with an estimated 1.5million citizens protesting in support of Tiananmen Square student protests.

Between 1990 and 2020 HK has each year held a peaceful annual candlelight vigil in Victoria Park in remembrance to the victims of Tiananmen massacre. HK was the only place in China in which remembrance was allowed, though it upset authorities in Beijing. The organizer has always been the 'Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China' shortened and simply called 'HK Alliance'.

CCP's 1 July 2020 enactment of its unconstitutional rule BY law 'national security law' means that everyone and everything in HK is now governed by CCP. Of course, as with everything else that has taken place in HK, the official version is that all large gatherings can not take place because of social distancing regulations under COVID-19 global pandemic.

The 4 June 2021 candlelight vigil was denied police permission on grounds of social distancing and COVID-19 global pandemic.

On 9 September 2021 three prominent members of pro-democracy group 'HK Alliance', organizer of the candlelight vigil in Victoria Park in Hong Kong, were charged under the national security law with 'subversion' after the group was accused of working as a "foreign agent". The group's chairman Lee Cheuk-yan and vice-chairs Albert Ho and Chow Hang Tung were charged (please read references below).

The Tiananmen Museum has for decades been harassed by pro-CCP supporters. The HK Alliance through HK public fundraising established and maintained the Tiananmen Museum in the SAR. Since 9 September 2021 HK police have ransacked and emptied the Tiananmen Museum. Officers of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department had earlier conducted an investigation at the ‘June 4 Memorial Museum’ as to whether the relevant licenses required for public exhibition had ever been obtained. Police also subsequently demanded that online social media was deleted, which HK Alliance complied with.

In addition to the three senior HK Alliance members' charges, nine HK pro-democracy activists and lawmakers were jailed for 'illegal assembly' related to the 2020 candlelight vigil in Victoria Park. (Amnesty International link here)

Truth has consequences for CCP: CCP has proven it is unwilling and unable to deal with truth. CCP must come clean about the Tiananmen massacre and urgently make political reforms to create a multi-party democracy in China that upholds UN international treaties and the rule OF law.

All day, everyday, China and the rest of the world is increasingly having to deal with CCP's viruses including its lies and the consequences of its activity:

+ We human beings have more important issues to address and spend our time on Earth with than dealing with criminal organization CCP, e.g. our spiritual development, sharing love, climate change, COVID, etc.

+ While CCP is resistant to change and unable to share power with the people it is a threat to humanity: If Democracies are to avoid facing their own consequences, they MUST recognize CCP's threat and respond by strengthening their own democracy, decoupling from CCP and supporting the people of China.

The memory of the Tiananmen Massacre is everlasting - CCP is not!
