I love China though I cannot abide CCP: I'm a patriot
I cannot 'breath' : literally - the recent Beijing sandstorm; figuratively - CCP's self-appointed 'People's democratic dictatorship' of China.
I love China and its people - this is what makes me a patriot - my love of China has nothing to do with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) nor the sociopathic demands of Emperor Xi Jinping!
China is China : I do not have an issue with the people of 'mainland' China - nor for that matter with any other peoples anywhere including 'minorities'.
The people of Hong Kong (HK) make HK the place. HK protesters who are the majority of HK people uphold the rule OF law and the Joint Declaration. CCP and the HK government do NOT uphold these obligations - which is why ultimately CCP will lose power in HK and China.
The CCP is not China : The people of China make China the place. CCP has appointed itself in China's Constitution as the 'People's democratic dictatorship'.
CCP is busy trying to force the entire world to align with its nationalist goals, narratives and actions : We the peoples of the United Nations have our human rights, and we the people of HK reject CCP's illegitimate one-party communist rule over HK!
The UN Charter's opening text is 'we the peoples of the United Nations....' it does NOT mention anything about leaders, autrocrats nor totalitarians. Its ONLY about 'we the people': the people make the place!
China is a Founding member of the United Nations and has a permanent seat on the Security Council because of Peng Chun Chang 張彭春 of the Republic of China (ROC) who was the Vice-Chairman of United Nations Commission on Human Rights that drafted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The United Nations Charter's first words are:
"WE THE PEOPLES OF THE UNITED NATIONS DETERMINED
to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war, which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to mankind, and
to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small, and
to establish conditions under which justice and respect for the obligations arising from treaties and other sources of international law can be maintained, and
to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom.."
What China needs most is a democratic multi-party political system to exercise the people of China's human rights to form their own government.
ICCPR article 25 'Every citizen shall have the right and the opportunity, without any of the distinctions mentioned in article 2 and without unreasonable restrictions:
(a) To take part in the conduct of public affairs, directly or through freely chosen representatives;
(b) To vote and to be elected at genuine periodic elections which shall be by universal and equal suffrage and shall be held by secret ballot, guaranteeing the free expression of the will of the electors;
(c) To have access, on general terms of equality, to public service in his country.'
Everywhere people are people : most just want to socialize and live together in love and peace! Some people have families and raise their children - everyone tries to get on with their own unique version of the life of the Universe. Few people have the time or interest to get involved with CCP's BS!
