Absurdity : 4 June 2021 Tiananmen massacre commemoration cancelled in communist HK

Updated: Jun 1, 2021

HK people were big supporters of the 1989 Tiananmen Square student movement with 1.5 million HK people protesting in support in HK on 21 May 1989. This was HK's largest pro-democracy protest until the 16 June 2019 anti - extradition law protest with 2million protesters.

Czech playwright turned President, Václav Havel, has played a vital part in his country's resistance to Soviet communism. The final Czech resistance push which threw out the Soviets was inspired by the 4 June 1989 Tiananmen Square student protests.

The USSR broke up, with its countries shifting towards democracy : Whilst in denial the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) rolled back the clock into the totalitarian Mao Zhedong era which since 1949 caused the death of at least 77 million Chinese people.

At a time of darkness, with no end in sight, Havel argued that no more opposition parties should be organized. Instead, he proposed “the power of the powerless” as the principle of Czech resistance.

Targeting the workings of a totalitarian operation, Havel suggested that people should “live in reality” by integrating resistance into their daily lives, and their daily lives into their values.

Havel’s second rule is to “live in truth”. This means facing the absurdities of a totalitarian society squarely instead of escaping from it, whitewashing it or pretending to be someone else.

This means adhering to what we believe, speaking our minds and upholding our standards of decency instead of becoming an accomplice of the totalitarian regime.

“Don’t flee from what you see. Live your life with your eyes open no matter how powerless you feel.”

“To triumph over absurdities, first you have to accept the inevitability of absurdities. Civilization will always prevail. Have faith!”

“Belief is a value, because values are subject to our subjective definitions. It will always be there as long as you believe it.”

CCP virus creates viruses! CCP has honed its 'human farming' technologies for decades : CCP virus knows exactly what it is doing in Tibet, Xinjiang, Mongolia, Hong Kong (HK), Australia, USA, EU, etc.

There's no denying the elephant in the room! In 2019 CCP declared biological war on all of humanity by deliberately releasing and spreading the laboratory created coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.

4 June commemoration in 2020

HK's annual 4 June commemoration in 2020 was the first time police refused to give permission to the popular, long serving event organiser Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements in China. Police replied to the organizer that the candlelight virgil was cancelled due to HK's global pandemic SARS-CoV-2 public health regulations.

Consider this, however:

Most HK people use public transport where there are no HK government health regulations in force during this SARS-CoV-2 global pandemic concerning social distancing, number of people inside a confined space, etc.

The majority of HK people support the wishes of pro-democracy protesters. They consider the organisers' request to commemorate 4 June made to HKPF under the auspices of the Public Order Ordinance (POO) both lawful and reasonable. For them, the HK government's response to deny the organisers' request is considered disingenuous.

Inspite of the HK government's attempt to clampdown on 4 June 2020 , HK people turned out to commemorate in Victoria Park and to assert their UN human rights including ICCPR civil liberties of freedom of assembly, to peaceful protest and to freedom of the Press.

4 June commemoration in 2021

The difference between 2020 and now in 2021 is that under the UN international treaty HK's Joint Declaration, HK's rule OF law has now been unconstitutionally replaced by CCP's arbitrary rule BY law.

HK was annexed in yet another serious breach of the Joint Declaration on 1 July 2020 by the enactment by CCP of their unconstitutional 'national security law' and subsequent enforcement in HK by mainland Chinese police.

HK is now just another 'dirty' city in China!

Currently almost all leading HK pro-democratic politicians, lawmakers and activists have either self-exiled, or been arrested and charged. Many have been denied bail, and now languish in prison on remand still awaiting Court hearings, some have been convicted and are doing time in prison.

As in 2020, we have the same organizer - 'Hong Kong Alliance' - for the 2021 commemoration, on this the 32nd anniversary, who applied to the police for permission to hold this event in the public venue of Victoria Park, the event's traditional location.

Police in 2021, as they did in 2020, replied to the organizer that the candlelight virgil can not be held due to HK's global pandemic SARS-CoV-2 public health regulations :

Furthermore the police have threatened up to 5 years prison for anyone convicted of attending this event and 1 year for publicising it!

Again, the majority of HK people who support both the vigil organisers and the pro-democracy movement in the SAR view the HK government's response to the organiser's lawful and reasonable request to commemorate 4 June as being disingenuous.

Without stability there will be no prosperity. A government that bases its decision upon irrational fear, unscientific arguments and kneejerk political reactions can never draw the trust, goodwill and cooperation of the people it is meant to serve.

All across HK and in other parts of the world at 8 pm on 4 June 2021 people will light a candle in remembrance.

Always and forever live in truth!

Liza Wang indoor concert in HK 4-6 June 2021.

With only 20% of HK people vaccinated and strict regulations on social distancing due to COVID-19 to rub it in the noses of HK people the HK government has allowed an indoor concert by Liza Wang to be held yet it has rejected an outdoors peaceful commemoration which since 1989 has been massively attended and supported by HK people! This is why most HK people will not get vaccinated, etc.
